A Contrite Heart - Psalm 51:17

A contrite heart, that is what Jesus is looking for, someone who knows what it is like to mess up big time, and then to seek God’s forgiveness through the huge sacrifice Jesus made for sinners like you and me. Yes, our sin caused His death on the cross. But praise be to God that 1 John 1:9 says: “If we confess our sin He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!”

You see,  people who live in glass houses do not throw stones.

David, when He wrote Psalm 51, had just been exposed by the Prophet Nathan. David had been caught having an affair with Bathsheba. He was broken and contrite in heart.

David ‘s sin cost him big time, but because this great man of God knew how to repent, God forgave Him.

We should never forget from whence we came. That will ensure that we remain humble in the sight of God and our fellow man. With that humble and contrite Spirit, Father God will use you and me to bring many souls to Christ, because people always open their hearts to someone who can identify with them, someone who does look down on them and judge them, but rather who loves them!

God Bless, and remember, it will not even be so much what you say, but rather who you are and the attitude you present that will change a man’s heart.
