May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us–so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. Psalm 67:1-2
You are blessed. Your blessings are deeper and wider than what you can touch and feel or fully comprehend. As children of God, He has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). Sister, God has been gracious to you. He has blessed you. His face is shining on you.
Selah. Hit the pause button and let that percolate in your soul. Let’s ask our Father who gave us our spiritual blessing in Christ to give us a deeper understanding of His gift.
Each time we’re given a present, we have a choice. Will we keep it or return it, display it or store it in the back hall closet? The blessings we have in Christ also necessitate a choice. Will we use them for personal gain or to make God and His ways known?
Psalm 67 is a missionary psalm and a God-centered prayer asking for His blessings so His message will reach the ends of the earth!
Think about the requests you regularly pray that begin with, “Please bless . . . “ What if each petition had its motive and end in bringing the message?
Father, please bless my family so that your ways may be known on earth (Psalm 67:2a).
Lord, please bless the work of my hands for the purpose of sharing your salvation among all nations (Psalm 67:2b).
God, please bless GEMS Girls’ Clubs so the peoples praise you, God; so all the peoples praise you (Psalm 67:3, 5).
Lord Almighty, please bless Canada and the United States so all the nations will be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth (Psalm 67:4).
As we pray, receive His promise: The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. May God bless us still, so that the ends of the earth will fear him (Psalm 67:6-7). Amen.
Continue the “Please bless” prayers throughout the day, asking God to use these blessings to reach the nations for Christ and ignite songs of praise to the ends of the earth!
