All You Have to Do Is Ask

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
A lot of times we cry out to God with our vision confined to the limited realm of what we know. We ask a question expecting an answer that is comfortable or that works for us right where we are. But this is not how our Father works. He is constantly pushing us to grow, knowing that the next step we take is only going to bring us closer to Him. If God were only to give us answers we already have, then what would be the purpose of His counsel?
The important thing is that we ask. Often we miss the amazing adventure God wants to lead us on because we are too afraid to trust Him, so we attempt the journey on our own. This limits us to our own provision. If we aren't asking or seeking God for what more we need, we have no way of finding it.
Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 AMP)
God wants to show you the amazing things He can do in your life. His response might be outside the immediate answers we often expect when we cry out to Him. He has a bigger purpose in mind, and He answers our cries from the limitless domain of what is yet to be seen. His riches can be found in the midst of our distress—but only when we are willing to trust Him and His plan.
Even when we find ourselves ensnared in unavoidable conflict, God will strengthen us to fight with whatever is in our hands. But if we haven’t equipped ourselves with the power of a relationship with Him and His Word, we will have nothing to wield in battle. We must trust that God has already made a way. Though the odds may be against us, our God is for us!
