Adelina, a World Vision sponsored child, is an orphan who lives with her grandmother. When their home was destroyed, they slept under a makeshift tent, leaving them exposed to passersby, snakes, and the elements. Luckily, neighborhood pastor Jornito Jorge attended a World Vision training that was funded through the sponsorship program where he learned how to care for orphans and other vulnerable children. Pastor Jornito started preaching about God’s care for orphans, and his church mobilized to rebuild Adelina’s home!
In all this, we see God’s faithfulness to his children and his desire to use us—his church—to care for those in need.
