Every day, children are languishing in orphanages around the world, abandoned due to their special needs. These children may be older, have siblings, or have cognitive, emotional or physical needs. Many of these children have been waiting years for a family to call their own. As followers of Christ, we must end this waiting.
God loves these dear children, and He has knit each of them together in their mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139:13). We know they will grow best and thrive by being loved, cared for and protected in a family.
Right now there are more than 150 million children who are considered orphans and in need of a stable, loving home. Through the These 400 initiative, we are looking to find families for 400 of the most vulnerable children.
These children are truly suffering without families, and they have no other options available to them. While they have substantial needs that make them harder to place, placement is not impossible. Having witnessed tremendous depths of love from couples before, including from a Virginia couple who adopted a child born without a brain so he would know the love of a family before he died, we know with great certainty that there are hearts and homes for children with special needs, no matter the severity.
What can you do to help find families for these 400 children?

- Advocate for these children in your church, through social media, and in your family and friend groups

Each day these children spend in an orphanage is a day that would have been better spent in a permanent home. We will continue to work tirelessly until we have placed at least 400 of these children with loving families. Will you join us?
