Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6, NIV).
I eventually found myself in a toxic environment, working for a company a former direct report of mine had recommended. I was offered a very attractive package to make this change and I was flattered by their interest in my expertise (I now know this was Pride rearing its ugly head). But I found myself quickly questioning my sanity.
I truly believed I could make the changes necessary but the reality was, I found myself literally on my knees every night asking God what he wanted me to do. I thought I made the right choice with this move. There were wonderful people working with me but there were unethical decisions and activities taking place above us we then had to carry out. People were disrespected on a regular basis and the dark side of leadership was alive and well.
What had I done? Fear was quickly coming to light and my world was about to turn upside down.
