Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
THINK
Everything we have comes from God, including discipline. But that translates to our hopes, dreams and desires as well. God doesn’t tell us to just be disciplined for discipline’s sake. There is a phenomenal payoff to discipline!
When we’re disciplined physically, financially, relationally, spiritually and morally, we will find ourselves in line with God’s plan, and we’ll discover that our ‘wants’ and God’s ‘wants’ are in sync. We don’t try to get God in line with our desires; we get in line with God’s desires!
Because it’s then that we’ll discover a power reality: that discipline is the path to a full and abundant life.
PRAY
Thank God for giving you wants and desires in your life. Pray for the discipline that you need to make sure those desires are in line with what God wants for your life.
