Dream Big!

What’s your dream job? Some kids grow up dreaming of being astronauts. Others want to be soldiers, princesses, moms, judges, dads, Olympians, doctors, presidents.

That’s the fun part of being a kid—you get to dream big! The problem comes when you think things like this: “I’ll never be able to escape my rough neighborhood” or “I’m too dumb” or “I don’t have much to offer this world.”

Your biggest problem—bring separated from God because of sin—got handled when Jesus died on a cross for you. Now you have eternal life. You are God’s child, and he has big plans for you. Your brother, Jesus, said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10 NIV).

You were created to bring God glory through everything you do. As you dream big and live your overflowing-with-blessings life, you get to tell everyone you meet, I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

Chomp on this!

Ask your parents what they wanted to be when they grew up. Astronaut? Chef? Pro basketball player?

Share your dream job. How can you reach your goals?

Talk about the ways you can glorify God and tell others about him through that job.

Dear Jesus, thank you for strengthening me and giving me a full life. Help me dream big. Whatever I grow up to be, Lord, help me bring you glory so that more people want to know you and learn about your grace. Amen.
