Life leadership roles, especially those within families, can at times be our most challenging leadership assignments. Among other things, families serve as God's laboratory for teaching us how to apologize and ask for forgiveness. By virtue of our close relationships, we see one another at our best and at our worst. Family members walk with us as God is shaping our heart, head, hands, and habits to be like Jesus. How can you model humility, honesty, and forgiveness within your family?
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”—Matthew 18:21-22
Prayer: Jesus, help me to live with humility and honesty in my relationships with my family, close friends, and co-workers. Give me the words to take responsibility for my mistakes and missteps, and help me to forgive others as you have forgiven me. I ask in Your name, amen.
