Gifts from God

Are you the best speller in your class?

Can you do long division in a split second?

Do you have a hard serve in volleyball?

Can you play a four-part Chopin nocturne on the piano?

Some people have all of these gifts. Maybe you don’t have any of these, but God says in the Bible that everyone has gifts. Whether you are talented in music, sports, computer coding, academics, listening well, art, or being a good friend, 1 Corinthians 10:31, tells us, “Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God.”

When Jesus lived and died for you, he brought you into God’s family. As part of God’s family, you use your unique gifts to do the jobs he has set for you to do. Use your talents to serve the people in your life so they see how awesome God is.

It’s not so much which gift you get that matters to God; it’s how you use the ones he does give you.

Chomp on this!

What talents has God given you?

How can you use those talents to talk about God and his glory?

Dear God, thank you for the many gifts and abilities that you give to us. Help us use them to our best ability so that we show how thankful we are for everything that you do for us. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
