Piñatas make birthday parties better. You’re with friends, you get to hit something with a stick without getting yelled at, and you look up to see the ultimate reward—candy!—showering down on you. You mob the ground, gathering up every piece you can. There’s so much that it falls out of your hands and you have to roll up the bottom of your shirt just to carry it all. You have so much that you are actually willing to share with the kid who didn’t get as much.
God and his blessings are like that piñata. In 2 Corinthians 9:8, we hear that “God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (NIV).
The God who owns the whole entire world loves it when you pray to him. He can’t wait to spill out good things into your life. His blessings are inexhaustible. (That means they never get used up; they just keep coming.) You have every single thing you need all the time. Now when you see just how full your life is, you look for the people around you who don’t have as much and you gladly share.

How can we share God’s blessings? Here are some ideas:
- give your toys to a shelter
- donate backpacks at the beginning of the school year for foster kids
- send your candy from trick-or-treating to people in the military
- give the money you made on your lemonade stand to missionaries.
