God Is Watching

“I can’t believe I made that goal! Did you see it?”

“Did you like my solo?”

“Watch my cannonball!”

Kids love to know that their parents are watching them. Parents love watching their kids. Sometimes, though, after about the 30th cannonball, parents get tired, stop watching, and go back to reading their books.

Your heavenly Father loves to watch you too, over and over and over. “He who watches over you will not slumber. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore” (Psalm 121:3, 7, 8 NIV).

Satan, who loves to lie, wants you to think that God isn’t watching you. Or maybe if he is watching you, he gets tired and starts reading a book instead. No way! God never gets tired of keeping his eye on you and protecting you from Satan. Even when you’re sleeping, God is watching you and keeping you safe. He’s concerned about where you go and what you do and he loves to work all of that for your good—for now and forever.

Don’t you love knowing God is watching you?

Dear God, sometimes I think I’m alone. I forget that you are watching over me, caring for me, and working to keep me close to you. Thank you for never sleeping and for being so very interested in my whole entire life. You are my awesome Father. Amen.
