God Plans Your Picture

Go grab some partners, a piece of paper, and a pen or pencil. For five seconds draw something. When your time is up, pass it to the next person. That person will add on to your picture for five seconds and then pass it to the next person. Keep going for two or three rounds. We’ll wait for you. . . . Ready? Draw!

Now that you’re finished, could you see what the picture was in the beginning? Did it turn out the way you expected? Probably not. You didn’t understand until the picture was finished. Our life is like that too. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A person may plan his own journey but the Lord directs his steps.”

God has a plan for each of us. You may not realize what God is doing, but the Lord knows what he will do with your life. You have a small picture of what he’s doing. Bad times, good parts—those are all part of God’s final picture of you. The picture is a good one too. Jeremiah 29:11 states, “‘I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.’”

All we can do is wait for the final picture to turn out. Meanwhile, go tell others about God’s final plan for them too.
