Godly Women, Part 4

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:25-26 NIV

The Godly woman, who has learned to respect her husband, becomes respected on her own!

In my church, there are a few women that everyone respects. I can unashamedly say that I believe my wife is becoming one of those women. People come to these women for counsel. They desire to be around them. They request prayer from them. They ask their advise. These women aren’t perfect; they are just trying to walk Godly lives. They are fulfilling God’s desire for them and their family, striving to follow His will.

In a world that says women should be independent from men and they should use their sexuality to further their influence, these ladies rely on the strength of God to supply all their needs. They are looking out, not for their own interests, but for the good of their husbands, their children, and all the people they encounter. They have depth of friendships, because they know how to be a friend.

Ladies (can I call you that?), is it your goal to be a Godly wife? Do you want to be considered among the noble women? Do you want your husband respected because you have invested yourself into him? Do you want your children to “rise and call you blessed” because you have poured yourself into them?

What a high calling to be a Godly woman! What a noble desire! There are some prayers God is sure to answer. This is certainly one of them. Call upon the God who molded Abigail, Sarah, and Mary into Godly women and ask Him to do the same in your life! He will!
