What drives your leadership? It's easy to say that we want to lead like Jesus, but at times our behavior can indicate that other motives are at work. How consistently do you find yourself responding out of humility and confidence vs. pride and fear? What does your commitment to meditating on God's Word and praying over your leadership responsibilities indicate? A daily inventory of the condition of our hearts, along with time in God's Word, helps us stay on track.
I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.—Psalm 119:10-11
Prayer: God, what do You see when You look at the condition of my heart? What hidden motives do You find? As I meditate on Psalm 119 today, show me what You see in me and change me to be more like Jesus. I ask in His name, amen.
