DON’T LOOK OUT ONLY FOR YOUR OWN INTERESTS, BUT TAKE AN INTEREST IN OTHERS, TOO. YOU MUST HAVE THE SAME ATTITUDE THAT CHRIST JESUS HAD. — PHILIPPIANS 2:4-5
In this world, it is so easy for women to get caught up in their own little universes, never looking to the right or left, but continually checking to see if they are on the right road and, if not, what adjustments might be necessary. But God would have His daughters looking beyond their own interests by investing themselves into the lives of others. After all, isn't that what Jesus did time and time again? In fact, the only time Jesus was not investing Himself in others was when He was away somewhere in a quiet place, either communing with His Lord or sleeping.
So, if a sister in Christ wants to adopt Jesus' attitude, she is to be looking to help others. And in this day and age, it shouldn't take her long to find someone who needs a helping hand, a lift out of the mire, or just plain loving kindness.
Like the Good Samaritan, may God's girl not pass others by but seek to understand their situation and, if needed, bind their wounds, whether they be physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual.
LET'S PRAY:
I want to have a Christlike attitude when it comes to looking out for others. Help me, Lord, not to be so consumed by my own needs and wants but to help others in every way possible.
