Let's Hear It

After your performance in the community theater play, you would be offended if the audience got up and walked out quietly. When they clap and cheer, the audience lets the cast know that they appreciate all the time and effort.

When your little league team wins its first game, does your coach look bored? No way! He cheers louder than the rest.

When you win the spelling bee or get a leadership award, your parents don’t simply smile and nod. No! They clap and cheer and can’t wait to take your picture so they can share their happiness with family and friends.

It’s time to make some noise for your God too. Every single awesome thing in this world and in your life is because of the work he did. A brain that controls the legs that move you from place to place—his idea. Creating elbows so you could bend your arms to feed yourself—he thought of that. Giving you aunties and uncles to love you—his blessing to you. Clothes to wear and food to eat—bought by the money he provides. Stars, waves, beaches, mountains—his creative genius made those! Coming to earth to defeat sin, death, hell, and Satan—entirely his plan! Preparing a place in heaven for you—his sweet idea.

Clap your hands, all you people. Shout to God with a loud, joyful song” (Psalm 47:1).

God gives you permission—get loud!
