Leading like Jesus isn't restricted to public leadership. Many leaders struggle to lead well in both the public and private spheres of life. King David's lack of attention to his relationship with God and to leading his family spilled over into his public leadership. As a result, his family and nation experienced upheaval during and after his reign. Which sphere of your private leadership needs your focus today? What is God calling you to do?
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.—Deuteronomy 11:18-19
Prayer: Father, show us where we need to refocus on living, loving, and leading like Jesus. Open our eyes to the opportunities we have to influence others through life role leadership. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.
