Maximum Power

Ephesians 1:19-20

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Paul’s letter to the Christians in the ancient Roman city of Ephesus is full of wonderful encouragement and teaching on Godly living…and in this passage he is reminding them of an incredible fact:

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in their lives!

Sometimes it may seem like our families and our relationships may never improve, but that’s not true because of the power of the Holy Spirit that is available to every Christian. Our problem isn't that we lack the ability to love one another well…it’s that we lack the desire to.

Jesus was in the grave and most of His disciples were hopeless. Your family might be having a lot of relational trouble and it seems like nothing is ever going to change. But…enter the power of the Holy Spirit! He was enough to raise Jesus from the dead, and He’s enough to lead your family into a loving and caring environment…as long as you are willing to go along with Him.

APPLICATION: Talk about the situations in your family life that seem like they are never going to change, and then pray about utilizing the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome your sins like that same power overcame Jesus’ grave!
