One of the most exhilarating experiences a person can have is a moment of true worship, when there seems to be no veil between you and your Creator and His presence is palpable. You may have to press in to get there, and it may not happen as often as you might like. But when it does, it’s wonderful.
This kind of worship is more than a feeling. In fact, all worship is more than a feeling. Sometimes, feelings aren’t there at all, and neither is a sense of His presence. But the worship is just as genuine and powerful. Sometimes, it’s a greater sacrifice — and therefore a greater act of worship — to come to him against inner obstacles, insecurities, and distractions. That’s faith — knowing He is ready to receive you into His arms and fully expecting that He will. Nowhere does He tell us we will feel bold in coming to Him. But He says we can come boldly anyway (Hebrews 4:16).
Do that today. Know that nothing separates you from the love of God, even when you feel miles away from Him. Make worship a priority, regardless of your mood. Eventually, the experience will include those exhilarating moments. But the worship is just as genuine — and just as pleasing to Him — all the time.
