“Even young people grow tired and become weary, and young men will stumble and fall. Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the Lord will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won’t grow tired” (Isaiah 40:30,31).
You leave early in the morning to be first in line at the amusement park. You know exactly which roller coaster you will do first. You’re hoping the park is empty so you can ride your favorite one five times in row. Maybe you’re so excited you even forget to eat. By the end of the day, though, your enthusiasm fades, you walk slower, and you’re kind of ready to go home. You’re tired, which is rare for kids with so much energy.
As you go through life, you start off with tons of energy too. Long days of activities, troubles with friends, and your guilty heart start to tire you out. The world tells you that you need to be an “army of one,” but you know you can’t make it through this world on your own. You need help.
The God who made the world has so much energy and strength that he loves to share it with you. He says that when you hope in him, you get a fresh batch of energy every day. You get through the trouble you face because you are waiting with hope. You serve him without getting tired because you’re using his strength. You love the people around you without getting tired because it’s his love you’re sharing.
