No More Crying

If you have a baby in your family, you know how much they cry. If you don’t, ask your parents how much you cried. You cried when you wanted to be held—and when you wanted to be put down. You cried when you were tired—and to let them know you were awake. You cried when you were hungry—and sometimes you just cried.

As you get older, you might cry less, but the stuff you cry about hurts more. Saying good-bye to friends hurts your heart. Moving from your house can make you sick to your stomach. You cry when your dog (or any pet) dies. You cry when you get into trouble.

That’s why God’s promise of heaven sounds so awesome. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4 NIV).

Jesus’ death guaranteed that in heaven you will never cry again. You will never be betrayed by friends. You will never have family members die.

Those who don’t believe in Jesus, though, are facing an eternity without God. Maybe it’s your aunt. Maybe it’s your best friend. Maybe it’s your teacher. Their eternity will be full of death and mourning and crying and pain. Love them enough to talk to them while there is still time.

Chomp on this!
