Paul calls us to pray for those in authority whose decisions impact the lives of others. None of us leads in a vacuum, whether in our families, in the workplace, within the church, or in the wider community. Whose leadership impacts your ability to lead well? How are you praying for them? Spend time now lifting them up to God.
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.—1 Timothy 2:1-2
Prayer: Sovereign God, we come to You today on behalf of parents, teachers, administrators, business leaders, government leaders, church leaders, organizational leaders, all those who wield influence and authority. May all of us learn to do so in humility, depending on Your wisdom, not our own. May we, like Jesus, lead in the best interests of those we serve. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
