Revival

For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17 NIV)

Do you know the difference in revival and a spiritual awakening. A spiritual awakening, as has occurred in our country only a few times, is when mass numbers of people come to accept Christ during a short period of time. A revival, which can happen in mass numbers or individually, is when a person who already knows Christ as Savior, repents of known sin, recommits their life to Christ, and "revives" the joy of their salvation, which spills out into the lives of others around them.

Are you ready to see revival in our land?

We talk a lot these days, and even in these mustard seeds, about God's grace. Isn't it wonderful that God is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to know Him as Savior? God is a loving God! Praise God!

Don't you believe, however, that if Christ's return is soon, that you and I have some house cleaning to do? Are there areas in your life, seen or unseen by the world, that you need to clean up before you are completely right with God? Is there some action, some thought you have hidden away, perhaps even from your family, that you know does not please God?

Let's get real honest for a minute. Are you as committed to Christ today as you once were? Are you as committed as you want to be, as you feel Christ deserves, because of what He did for you on the Cross? Am I?

It is time for judgment to begin with the family of God! Dear Lord, let it begin with me!
