Have you ever known people who made promises they didn't keep? Maybe they would say they would call, but didn't. Perhaps they promised a lunch together or a movie, then simply got busy and forgot. It's frustrating, isn't it? A person like that is hard to trust. And when you have to work with someone who doesn't follow through, it can be even more frustrating.
How wonderful that God never forgets His promises. If He says it, He means it. And if He means it, He does it. Talk about keeping your word! God is the very epitome of trustworthiness. Remember that you are created in God's image, and He's all about honesty. So, pray before making commitments; then do what you've said you would do. And when the Lord speaks into your life, giving you instruction—like ministering to someone in need or spending more time in the Word—better get to it! Be a woman of your word—both to people and to the Lord.
LET'S PRAY:
Lord, I want to be known as a woman of my word. I want to be trustworthy. Today, remind me of the commitments I've made, then set me back on the right track to get those things done. Amen.
