What keeps you going throughout the day? Is it reliance on God or reliance on yourself? Read Proverbs 3:19-35, and think about who you trust more.
It is obvious we all need wisdom. As much as we try, life is too difficult to just "wing it." When we take on the trials of the world – which are bound to come – we need more than just our own minds and willpower to make it through. We need help from above!
But at times it is hard to let go of the anxieties of life and let God take over. When we finally do, sleep is sweeter and life is easier. It's not just a coincidence. It's biblical! God commands us to cast all our cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7) and to have confidence in Him (Proverbs 3:26). And the result – just read verses 22 through 24.
Think about it – the wisdom that created the earth's foundation (v 19) and the knowledge that set the heavens in motion (v 20), are available to us through Jesus Christ. When we tap into His source, we receive His gifts – sound judgment, discernment, grace, safety, and security (vs 21-26).
But most importantly, when we trust in the Lord, He pours out His wisdom. He gives us the strength and guidance to love our neighbors (vs 27-30), to live righteously (v 33), and to humbly follow Him (v 34).
Imagine what life would be like if millions of Christians throughout the world actually lived out this biblical lifestyle. What a vast, transformational difference that would make!
