#TBT

. . . being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

I like looking through old pictures. It reminds me of some of my favorite vacations, places, and people. It helps me recall the memories I’ve made with my friends and family.

Sometimes, when I reflect, I wish I could go back to a certain time in my life. To a time that felt simpler or more exciting or more fun. Back to college sleepovers, afternoons playing with my sister in our huge yard, or sitting on my grandma’s lap as she read me book after book. Sometimes I wish to go back to a time when I felt closer to God. Like when I was on a mission trip or when I felt like God was doing some really cool things in my life. And it’s hard to not wish that time back.

But God promises that even though time passes, He does not. The reality is, God never leaves. He’s always there. He’s always listening and waiting. He is always working in you. It might not look the same–maybe you’re not painting old buildings like you did on your mission trip or involved in a praise team like you used to be–but He is still at work.

It just takes some time. He started the work in us–He claimed us as His–and He will not stop until the work is complete.

So as you think back on this #TBT, think about the ways you’ve seen God work in you and how you can see Him in your life today.
