The Door

There is no other way into God’s Kingdom but through the door, and Jesus tells us very clearly that He alone is that door.

The shepherds of old would construct an enclosure of thorn branches in a circle to keep their flock of sheep in at night, in order to protect them from marauding wild animals. The door to that enclosure however, would be the shepherd himself. He would lie across the opening so that anything going out or anything coming in would have to pass over him.

As we read in John 10:9, “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”

There is no other way to find eternal life, peace and security, but by (and through) the Son of God, Jesus. He is the Good Shepherd who is, in fact, ready to die for His flock if necessary, in order to protect His precious sheep from the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy. John 10:10.

You and I have an obligation today: to show lost sheep the way to Jesus. This will ensure that they enter through the door that will lead them safely home.
