The Measure of Your Faith

GO THY WAY; AND AS THOU HAST BELIEVED, SO BE IT DONE UNTO THEE. — MATTHEW 8:13

The centurion humbly approached Jesus in this one and only biblical account wherein a master came to Christ, pleading for Him to heal his servant.

Jesus must have recognized the soldier's compassion, for He responded immediately, saying He would go to the man's home and heal the boy. But the man humbled himself even more, telling the Christ that he, the centurion, was not worthy to have Jesus come to his home—and finally admitting all Christ needed to do was "speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed" (v. 8 KJV).

Hearing this, Jesus actually "marveled" (v. 10 KJV), remarking He had not found such great faith in all of Israel! And in the same hour in which He said, "Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so it be done unto thee," the centurion's servant was healed.

Might every woman have this measure of the centurion's faith. May she bring not only her own child, but all children before Jesus, humbly pleading with Christ to heal them of mind, body, spirit, and soul. And then go her way, knowing that it will be done for her just as she believed!

LET'S PRAY:

I bring before You on of Your children, Lord. I know there is nothing impossible for You. You need only speak the word, Jesus, and this child will be made whole. May it be done as I believe.
