The Royal Seat of the King

In the morning when you approach the throne of God, what image do you see? A chair like the one in my dining room, the exquisite antique European high-back arm chair, or the one described in the Bible? When’s the last time you closed your eyes in prayer, envisioning the dominant focus in that room: GOD’S AUDACIOUS SEAT OF POWER!

The Word gives us a glimpse of its grandeur:

  • Glowing with shimmers like a rainbow of emeralds
  • Dazzling with twenty-four other thrones around its center
  • Shimmering with reflections off a sea of glass
  • Flaming with fire; glittering with sapphires
  • Glistening with the sounds of living water

God’s kingship is affirmed there. It’s where our prayers ascend. It’s where His graciousness and compassion comes down. It’s there that we’re given the invitation to come and receive whatever we need as His beloved. “Come boldly to the throne of grace that you might receive grace and mercy in time of need.”  (Hebrews 4:16).

Grace means benevolent favor.Mercy means “an attitude that arises from a covenant relationship, bonded in sublime faithfulness.” I love that! God’s ‘mood’ desires to bless us. His throne froths over like a fountain of bubbles extending kindnesses and divine benefits to all who draw near in confidence and genuine surrender and dependence.

What is it you need today? Visit the “THE KING’S CHAIR.” In His presence ‘something’ magnificent happens. If you don’t walk away having worshiped His majesty, then you likely entered the wrong room.
