We Want to Be Happy, but How?

We all want to be happy, don’t we?

How do we find this elusive happiness that seems to be so close, yet terrifyingly far away?

How do we find a constant source of pleasure?

As much as I love my wife, it would be unfair of me to think, even as wonderful as she is, that she could be my constant source of pleasure.

As much as I love my daughter Presley and my son Jeremiah, it would unfair of me to think, even as wonderful as they are, that they could be my constant source of pleasure.

As much as I love the people of Transformation Church, it would unfair of me to think, even as wonderful as they are, that they could be my constant source of pleasure.

Before I can experience pleasure from people, possessions, and the places I go, I must constantly enjoy being loved and enjoyed by God.

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”  Psalms 16:11 ESV

Being in God’s presence is the source of joy and pleasure.

And isn’t it good to know that because of Jesus, we are always in God’s presence because He indwells us?
