What Does Your Heart Look Like?

Ever wonder how Jesus sees us — I mean really sees us? I was thinking about that the other day. It's interesting how questions bring out truths in His word. I started noticing how Jesus reacted to people He met when He walked here in the Land of the Living.

Jesus was intentional.

He was also selective.

He took His time doing the right thing the first time around. He never had to back pedal to set things straight.

A receptive heart He never turned away.

Jesus knew exactly who was open, willing and yielded to Him.

He poured truth into the receptive hearts of His disciples sharing secrets of beautiful spiritual wonders. He spoke  plainly to them, not in parables. He saw hearts as prepared soil – the hardness of the path nonexistent, the heaviness of the stones removed and the sharpness of the thorns destroyed. This “prepared soil” harbored the good seed of His word. It was soil irrigated by Living Water. The fruit of that soil is still harvested today.

He hasn’t changed.

Let us stop what we’re doing. It can wait.

Let us, with open eyes, unclogged ears, clear minds and soft hearts,  turn to Him without reservation.

Let us yield the hard, heavy and thorny places to this Farmer of our souls.

Let us, not with quick steps, but sure steps, walk inch by inch in the full measure of His will.

Let us watch as His perfect, pleasing and acceptable will bears fruit for generations to come.

Can you see Him?

Can you hear Him?

He says, “Knock and the door will be open.”

He says, “Come. I will give you rest.”

He says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

And finally He says, “I love you with an everlasting love.”

He replied, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance…But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” (Matt 13: 11, 16)
