IF YOU NEED WISDOM, ASK OUR GENEROUS GOD, AND HE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU. HE WILL NOT REBUKE YOU FOR ASKING. - JAMES 1:5
Ever been lost in an unfamiliar place? Trees block street signs, and other streets aren't marked at all; construction causes confusing, squiggly detours. Embarrassment or even panic grows as the minutes pass.
In life, we hit unexpected detours that make us unsure of where to turn next. They might be difficult decisions involving family, healthcare, jobs, or relationships at church. Maybe the weight is migrating from the tension in your shoulders to settle in your heart.
The good news is that our heavenly Father knows the way out of our confusion and will help us when we are at our most frantic. James tells us that God promises to give wisdom to those who ask for it in faith; He gives wisdom "generously" and "without fault." Sometimes it's intimidating to ask for advice from others, but God doesn't look down on us for admitting our weakness. He chooses to lavish His love and His gifts on error-prone people because they are a part of His family in Christ. We can entrust ourselves and our lives to our heavenly Father, knowing that through Christ, we have access to "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" that our Savior possesses (Colossians 2:3).
LET'S PRAY:
Dear heavenly Father, thank You that You have my days planned out for me and I am safe in Your hands. Please grant me wisdom when I am at a loss and help my spirit be sensitive to Your Spirit's leading. Amen.
