Why? Proverbs 22:7 explains it well, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.” For the most part, our culture has been methodically teaching us to become slaves of the wrong master. Not slaves of money; we all know that’s wrong, but slaves to the lenders.
We have been programmed to believe that the only way to buy a home, a car, or other big ticket items is to borrow. And, of course, they have convinced us it’s silly to save for something you want when you can have it right now with a credit card.
The result has been slavery. If you doubt that, then refuse to make your credit card, car or mortgage payment and give that money to your church instead. If you do, the real masters will make their power known very quickly.
Unfortunately, every dollar that many families earn has been spoken for before they ever receive their pay check. And what is really sad about that is they are going to miss out on the great wealth transfer promised in the word of God.
Proverbs 13:22 says, “…the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous.” Psalms 37:21 defines the wicked and righteous this way, “The wicked borrows and does not repay, but the righteous shows mercy and gives.”
Jan and I want you to know that you can be the ones who show mercy and give, there are answers. God wants you to prosper. He wants you to be able to give and participate in the coming wealth transfer, but it is going to take a complete change in the way that many think.
To help, I have completed a video teaching series that you can watch on my website called Ancient Paths of Wealth. Take the time to watch; I know it will help you build a foundation that will leave you with only one master, the Lord Jesus Christ.
