Our thoughts must be tested. I’ve had thoughts that I knew were wrong, dangerous and unwarranted. Following through on them would have caused harm to others and myself.
The spirit of this world speaks to the spirit of man.
God communicates. He penetrates the mind with words of wisdom. His voice pierces the inner recesses of the soul. A thought, a direction and even a solution come to the listening ear.
The Spirit of God speaks to the spirit of man.
We listen to the one we turn our ear to. In the life of the Spirit the Lord will not speak until we want to be led. We have been given the ability to listen to Him, but it is not activated until we decide to listen willingly. The Lord will not lead until we want to be led. The capacity to follow Him is motivated by the will.
Nothing happens without yielding — yielding family, friends, finances, education, and even employment. He wants to intervene on our behalf. He wants to show His plans for us.
It is all or nothing at all.
Trusting Him makes a difference.
Knowing Him makes all the difference in the world.
We meet Him through the pages of Scripture powered by the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is not a “know how” book. It is a “know Him” book.
His nature is there. His truth is there. His voice is there.
Test the inner voice. Is it God? He doesn’t speak to strangers. Read His word. Read His word out loud. Let it capture the inner recesses of your mind. Let it seize the soul. Listen and you will know the voice of God. Listen with a yielded heart and you will know God.
