Your Mission Field

I just got an email from Joey Lankford telling me he and his family are back in South Africa and readjusting to life there. A few weeks ago we celebrated with Joey and his family and heard the success of their work with Living Way – the job training program of Living Hope.

Joey and his wife Courtney told their story again and again about how they – just a normal Middle Tennessee family – were called to go half way around the world to work with John Thomas and the Living Hope community.

Now, David and Nicole Hannah are home from Italy. Again, we’re hearing a similar story. A nice, traditional, average Middle Tennessee family suddenly begins to understand God has a place for them – in Bologna, Italy.

At Brentwood Baptist Church, we celebrate those who have been sent from God.  We love running members off to places where God is working.

This means we celebrate you. We believe every one of us is uniquely gifted to join God in His work in a particular place and to a particular people.

I’m writing this blog to help you begin to think about the place you’re sent – and about the people to whom you are sent. Most of us, in fact, are already at the place God wants us to be. We already know the people to whom we’re sent. We need only to recognize our calling to our mission field.

So, think about it…

Who do you know where you work?

Live?

Play?

Who doesn’t know Jesus?

That’s your mission field.

What do you do now? The same thing every missionary I know does…

Pray.

Pray and let’s see what God will do next. He’s already got you on the mission field.  Surely He has a plan.

Let’s find it and in His power… let’s do it.
