Armenian children study the Bible and pray at summer Bible camp.
Armenia prides itself on being the first official Christian country, but over many years practicing Christianity was forbidden. World Vision is helping to restore the faith to its rightful place, starting with children.
The camp agenda includes Bible study classes, educational sessions on child rights, healthy lifestyles and nutrition, first aid and hygiene. Priests of the Armenia Apostolic Church teach Christian values and join the children on pilgrimages to ancient Armenian churches.
"I have never heard about the Bible before,” says Anahit, 10. “Now I know about Abraham and Isaac, and how deep one’s faith can be to sacrifice the most treasured people and things.”
