At the beginning of my journey with God, I was far from imagining that so many people would read my encouragements every morning! I felt more like an undisciplined new believer who didn’t know much of anything rather than a real disciple of Jesus ...
What’s certain is that I was young, impulsive, and arrogant, far indeed from the image I had of “perfect Christians.” As I recount in my first book, my life was in shambles, even though I went to church. Looking at my life, Jesus had to have said to Himself, “There’s a lot of work to be done with this one!”
When I was 18 years old, God clearly spoke to me in a prayer meeting and called me to serve Him. Leaving the meeting, I came across a man I really looked up to who’d been a Christian for a long time. I told him, with great enthusiasm, “Tonight, God called me to serve Him!! I’m going to serve God! He’s going to use my life to touch a lot of people!” This man answered me and said, “You? Surely not.” It was like a huge, icy shower.
Has something similar ever happened to you? Have you ever been disheartened by certain people close to you? Or has someone perhaps tried to destroy the call that God placed in your heart, saying something like, “You? Surely not ...”?
Most of us feel unworthy of serving God ... and some even ask themselves if they’re a mistake or an accident.
How do you feel today? Ordinary? Incapable? Unqualified? I’d like to tell you ... God loves you with an unconditional love, no matter what you do or don’t do. He loves you. And know this ... God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things!
One of the central values of the Kingdom of God is honor ... always empowering and always celebrating others by showing them what they are, and can become, thanks to Him.
This makes me think ... our God often has more faith in us than we do in Him!
You are extraordinary, unique, and remarkable. Believe this truth today! :-)
Thanks for existing!
