The Joy of My Heart

Micah 5:4-5
"And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the LORD, In the majesty of the name of the LORD His God; And they shall abide, For now He shall be great to the ends of the earth; and this One shall be peace." NKJV
In Micah 5, we find one of many prophecies recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures pointing to the coming Messiah. Thousands of years later, we now know that Micah was true and that Jesus, the Messiah, was born just as had been foretold. We also know something else about Jesus, the One chosen by God to save mankind. In verse five, Micah writes,
"And this One shall be peace." Micah 5:5
The One Micah is speaking of is Jesus Himself. He doesn't just offer peace between God and man, but He also is the very personification of peace. I don't know about you friend, but this is amazing to me. You see, this world is constantly searching for peace, but the peace they search for is empty. Rather than seeking the One who is peace, they chase after false promises of peace through alcohol, drugs, relationships and even religion. The sad part is that the One who is peace, Jesus Christ, stands with open arms desiring to be peace to a world in desperate need of it. Friend, do you have peace? Or maybe I should ask, "Do you know the One who is peace?" You can today.
Life Lesson: Without Jesus, we can't know true peace.
Dear God,
I know that I have sinned and because of my sin, I do not have peace with You. Lord, please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Create in me a clean heart and fill me with Your Spirit so that I may know the One who is peace. I believe in Jesus and what He has done for me on the cross. Lord, change my life and use it for Your Kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
