To be a Christ-follower means you not only believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Messiah, but you choose Him as Lord. He becomes your new priority. He gets first place.

John 3:30 (NIV®)                      

He must become greater; I must become less.

 

Many of us have wrongly believed that being a Christ-follower means reciting a prayer and perhaps being dunked in a pool of water then returning to live our lives on our own terms with little interest in the things of God. And being a Christ-follower is not even about where you sit for a few minutes on the weekend. That is a deception. To be a Christ-follower means you not only believe that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ, the Messiah, but you choose Him as Lord. He becomes your new priority. He gets first place. His agenda becomes your agenda. His moral perspectives become your moral perspectives. His passions become your passions. Thankfully, He has not left us to navigate these things on our own but has given us His Word as an instruction manual and His Holy Spirit as our Helper and Guide.

 

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your great mercy and love. My desire is to know and love your Word and apply the truths in it to my life. Thank you also for sending Your Holy Spirit as my guide. In Jesus’ name, amen.
