Description
While governments rise and fall, and we should pray for all, a believer’s true security comes from Almighty God.

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NIV®)

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

It’s fashionable in many circles to be angry and complain about the circumstances that surround us. And many of those circumstances are frustrating! In spite of that, God has blessed us. Let’s commit to pray “for kings and all those in authority” more than we complain about them. And it’s good to remember that while governments rise and fall, a believer’s true security comes from Almighty God, who holds the future in His hands.

PRAYER

Father, I see people in authority who appear indifferent to Your purposes. You want all to be saved, however, so I know that no one is beyond Your reach, beyond Your purposes if they would turn to You. That’s my prayer today, Lord: that many of those in positions of power would come to know You as Savior and that we would see a great movement for Almighty God among “kings and all those in authority.” In the name of Jesus, amen.
