A Common Bond

“But Ruth replied, ‘Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.’”  Ruth 1:16

THINK

From friendship to dating to marriage, there’s a beginning point of every relationship you have. There’s a foundation. And it’s often that foundational aspect of relationships that allows them to reach new levels of depth and intimacy. It is by sharing common interests, having similar goals, and understanding the same things that people’s relationships develop more fully.

If you are a Christ follower, make sure your closest relationships have that similar bond. Make sure your closest friends, those people you date, and ultimately the person you marry all have the same foundation of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Make sure those people you do life with have made the move from Moab.

PRAY

Ask God to surround you with strong people who have the same understanding of His love as you. Ask Him also to help you influence those in your life who don’t have that foundation so that they can grow to know Him.

ACT

Think of the most important relationships in your life. Do they share the same connection to Christ as you?
