Free of Sin?

"If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness." 1 John 1:8-9

THINK

Dogs will let you know when something is wrong, won’t they? They’ll bark and bark until someone pays attention. And many times they’ll keep barking even after they have your attention.

When something is wrong in our lives; when we fail to hit God’s target of holiness in our lives, it is called “sin." And the Bible teaches us that we aren’t to keep our sin bottled up. We must confess it to God. Confession simply means admitting to God what He already knows about us. It is by confessing our sin to God that we discover forgiveness from God.

Is there sin that you need to confess to God? Don’t try to hide it. Instead, confess it and discover forgiveness from the only One who can truly give it to you.

PRAY

Admit to God how you have missed His mark of perfection. And thank Him for the forgiveness He provides through Jesus Christ.

ACT

Read Isaiah 59 to discover a powerful reminder of the power of confession.
