We get our needs met everyday in all different kinds of ways. We search for security, significance and satisfaction throughout our lives. Different things bring us security like money, success, a job, or marriage. The same is true with finding significance and satisfaction…but only God can truly fill all of your needs. We will always come away with a feeling of incompleteness if we try to fill our needs with anything other than God. There is no amount of money that can fill our void. Who defines success? Someone is always accomplishing more, earning more money, and being noticed more than you. Are we left to just live this life and never find true peace? NO.
God guides the humble and He will teach us His way. With God’s way, we can find peace, joy, and contentment —even if we aren’t the most successful person. As we search for security, ask God to make you feel secure. Only God can bring true security in your life. When you are searching to find satisfaction, ask God. God can give you a deep sense of purpose in just loving your children. As you search for significance look to God. You ARE significant in God’s eyes whether you “do” anything or not. You are significant because you are His child and He loves you dearly.
We all search for security, significance and satisfaction in our lives. But, consider changing your thought to allowing God to guide your search and listen to His way. God’s way always is better and will leave you fully satisfied.
Prayer
Father, I humble myself and will look to You to guide my life. God, I continue to make a mess of things. I continue to go down paths that leave me empty inside with feelings of insecurity. I acknowledge that my way does not work and I am looking to You and your wisdom and guidance. Lead me and show me Your way.
