Let the Spirit Lead: Part 3

Are you ready for some good news?

The Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, has a beautiful plan for your life and He wants to guide you in it every day!

Today’s devotional explores the rich promises of God to lead us by His Spirit. I once had this idea that if I fully submitted to God’s leadership in my life He would probably send me to a place I did not want to go, to do something I did not want to do, for longer than I wanted to do it. I really believed that if I surrendered totally to God, and let the Spirit overtake my life, that would be the end of my enjoyment of life.

I can say to you with full confidence from the promises of God, as well as from life experience, that God is a good Father who loves His children. He loves to give you the desires of your heart – of your heart, not of your flesh. He only has your best in mind.

God has a way of putting you into your calling before you realize it is always what you wanted to do. You do not need to be afraid of God. He is your Advocate, your Hero, your Rescuer, your Savior, your Lover, your Covering, and your King! God is committed to melting the fear of His people. “Fear not. I am with you.” (Matt. 10:28) “Don’t be afraid. Do not let your heart be troubled.” (John 14:27) God doesn’t want you to be afraid, because the more you are afraid, the harder it is for you to hear His voice. God does not lead by fear. God leads by peace. The very nature of the Holy Spirit is peace and love, and perfect love casts out fear. You can trust the Spirit to lead you in love. And that’s the Gospel!
