Sweet Sleep

"…when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet." Proverbs 3:24, NIV

One of God's great blessings is sleep! Most of us don't get enough of it.

Be encouraged and exhorted today to––get some rest! God wants to give His beloved sleep. If you’re burning the candle at both ends––you need to sleep. If you struggle with insomnia, difficulty getting into a deep sleep or waking up in the middle of the night unable to go back to sleep––you need God's help to sleep!

It's one thing to be a college kid who stays up all night and it's another to be living a responsible life where sleep isn't a luxury, it's a requirement! Our bodies need to sleep to recover and rejuvenate. Some studies even tell us that sleeping helps us lose weight!

The Bible says, "…He gives His beloved sleep" – so, let's take it! Since the Lord never sleeps or slumbers; there is no sense in us staying awake all night.

If you need to get into some new patterns of good and refreshing sleep; here are a few verses you can lay hold of…

God Never Sleeps:

He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. (Psalm 121:3-4, NKJV)

God Gives Us Sweet Sleep:

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. (Psalm 4:8, NIV)

In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat — for he grants sleep to those he loves. (Psalm 127:2, NIV)

when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. (Proverbs 3:24, NIV)

Say This: "Father, I thank You that You give your beloved sleep and my sleep will be sweet. I thank You that tonight I will lie down and sleep in peace. Help me get into good and proper habits for getting enough rest so that my body and mind can recharge. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
