“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
I have a goal: I want you to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus. If you have been a Christ-follower for most of your life and have been in church for years, I want your commitment to Him to become even greater. If you don’t think following Jesus is something you’re interested in, I hope you’ll give that more thought. I understand there is a cultural resistance to following Jesus. The notion that Christianity will limit your life―even your intellect―has gained some real traction in American culture. I want you to know that is a lie. Following Jesus of Nazareth will bring you more freedom, joy, blessing, and wisdom than any other belief system on the planet—in this life and the next.
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, show me today how I can know You more and give me the heart to be obedient to what You show me. I make a decision today to invest time in Your word and prayer so that You can open doors for me to become a more fully devoted follower in any way You want to impart that to me. I choose to pick up Your yoke and learn from You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
