Why does the universe exist? Why is there soil? An atmosphere? Moonlight? Iron ore? Saltwater? Gravity? Whales? Corn?
The answer is you. God made all these things and everything else to provide a beautiful home for you and for the other six billion people. It is His heartfelt desire to have a joyful personal relationship with each one of us on earth, and His heart is restless until we all love him back.
We were made for Him; that is our purpose. “Remember these things, O Jacob, for you are my servant, O Israel. I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you. I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you” (Isaiah 44:21,22).
One of the most significant parts of your mission on earth is to help God find and reclaim His lost children, people who are living their lives disconnected from Him, who may spend eternity disconnected from Him. When you dare to speak up to bring others back to God, you are speaking God’s words. You are helping carry out God’s agenda. You are helping God’s kingdom come. You are doing God’s work.
